What was unique about the bridal party’s attire?
For their early spring wedding at 5eleven Palafox in downtown Pensacola, Kat selected the most gorgeous collection of tea length bridesmaid dresses in shades of soft blush, dusty rose, and lilac. Some chose solid colors and played with fun textures, others chose subtle tone-on-tone prints, and her sisters both were stunning in chiffon floral prints that evoked the cheerfulness of early spring. I was OBSESSED with how perfectly her aesthetic came together!!
What made the wedding venue special?
Kat and Peter chose to have a traditional Catholic ceremony at St. Thomas More Catholic Church. It is a stunning church in its own right, but in this instance made more beautiful by the fact that not only were Kat’s parents married there, BOTH sets of her grandparents were also! At the entrance to the ceremony, they placed photos from their weddings and it was such a delight to see Kat’s family history in photographs!
What was special about the first time the bride and groom saw each other?
Many of our couples choose to do a first look because in many cases, it can help a wedding day to flow more smoothly and make space for the couple to enjoy more of their reception. Kat and Peter chose a first look, not for practical reasons, but simply because they wanted those few moments just to themselves on their wedding day. I had initially planned for that moment to take place in the courtyard at 5eleven, but unexpected changes in the weather meant a tent was being installed during the time we had planned for their first look so we had to instead do it inside. We shifted some furniture in the bridal loft and took advantage of the stunning light, and I simply cannot get over how beautiful and intimate that moment was for them!
