Were there any unique traditions that made the reception or ceremony memorable?
Katie + Ryan opened up their reception with a traditional Grand March, encouraging their guests to flood the dance floor in celebration of their union. A giant conga line led guests into a “double eagle” formation making a fun tunnel for them to run through. This only led to further shenanigans and a music-themed drinking game ensued right there on the dance floor. Guests took turns chugging their cocktails until a certain lyric signaled them to stop and the next person to start drinking. It was an eventful and energizing start that their guests truly enjoyed.
What was unique about the bride and groom’s attire?
Katie was a bride after my own heart! She chose to keep her color palette timeless but with a dash of razzle-dazzle. Her gorgeous Fiore blooms added the perfect pop of pink while her Antonio Melani shoes provided just the right sparkle at her feet. Katie even had pink (and white) heart-shaped sunnies to complete her cool bridal look.
Were there any special gifts shared between the bride and groom?
Katie really took the cake when it came to thoughtful surprises and gift-giving on the day of her wedding. Not long after they started dating, sweet Katie started journaling to her future husband. Throughout their courtship, she filled a notebook with scores of love letters to him. Even before they were engaged she just knew that he was the one, and with that in mind she documented their love story in the hopes of gifting it to him on their wedding day. It was during their vows that Katie read from the journal, sharing the gift with her groom before saying “I Do,” as Mr. and Mrs.
