Did the weather cooperate on the wedding day?
Did it ever!! Jennifer and Eric chose the Portofino Island Resort on Pensacola Beach for their destination beach wedding, and we couldn’t have asked for a more perfect mid-spring afternoon for them! Under clear blue skies with a gentle breeze blowing off the crystal clear emerald water, they said “I do” surrounded by their nearest and dearest. It was everything we hope for in a wedding at the beach!
Were there any special gifts shared between the bride and groom?
When Jennifer and I had our final meeting a few weeks prior to their wedding, she told me that she and Eric were planning to exchange gifts with each other. She went on to explain that her gift to him was a beautiful pocket watch with an inscription that said “Yours until the end of time.” A few days later Eric emailed me privately to let me know that his gift to Jennifer was a song that he had written for her that would be performed during their reception by their friend, Jayson Harper. A fair bit of subterfuge went into keeping his gift to her a secret until the big day, but it was worth it to see the sheer joy on Jennifer’s face when she realized what was happening!
What made the reception enjoyable?
Jennifer and Eric chose to keep their wedding intimate, and their reception on the upper pool deck at Portofino was more like an extended cocktail hour! I loved that they wanted to treat their guests to a lovely evening on the water with good food and music, and keeping their reception more low key allowed them to really spend time with everyone! It was just perfect!
