Did the weather cooperate on the wedding day?
Winter along the Alabama Gulf Coast is typically pretty mild, but every once in a while we have an unexpected cold snap. Christy and Chris came to Gulf Shores to have their dream beach wedding at the Beach Club Resort & Spa, and ended up right in the middle of one of those unexpected cold snaps. They were determined however, to have their ceremony on the sand and fortunately, there was no rain and they were able to do so! They were such troopers with the frigid temps and 30 mile per hour winds, and I was just so happy that they were able to have the beach wedding they had been dreaming of!
What emotions were apparent on the wedding day?
Christy and Chris were so calm and relaxed all day, and clearly just happy to be celebrating their special day with their family, and friends. Having had a rainy day wedding that forced a change in plans at my own wedding, I know first hand that it can be a little stressful. I also know that I wouldn’t have changed a single thing about my wedding day and It was so lovely to see them enjoying their big day in spite of the unexpected frigid weather, and resulting changes to their plans!
Did the couple incorporate any pets in the wedding?
Yes!! They have two of the most adorable pups ever and they definitely wanted to include them in their wedding day in some way. While sweet Drake and Cali couldn’t be there for the ceremony, we made sure to make time earlier in the day for some portraits with them. Christy even had cute little likenesses of them on the groom’s cake, and custom koozies that said “We Do Too!” I loved that they found fun and creative ways to include their fur babies in their big day!
