What was your favorite detail from the wedding day?
I seriously cannot choose just one from this amazing book-themed wedding! Kaitlyn and Sam share a love of Harry Potter, and Lord of the Rings, and The Princess Bride, and Zelda and so many other wonderful classics of both page and screen. They were so smart in the way they incorporated these interests into their wedding design! Their reception centerpieces featured candles and flowers set atop a stack of classic novels. Their vows were carried down the aisle in a hollowed-out copy of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, and the secret compartment held their “unbreakable vows.” Instead of a classic ring pillow, their bands were enclosed in a box engraved with Elvish characters from Lord of the Rings. Their personality and interests were obvious in every element of their wedding. I loved it.
Were there any unique traditions that made the reception or ceremony memorable?
Yes! During their reception, Kaitlyn and Sam played the Newlywed Game, which was so cute! Their guests (and their photographer) laughed and cried watching them answer the questions, and it was a great way to see their personalities.
Did the weather cooperate on the wedding day?
Nope, but it was perfect anyway! It was almost 80 degrees at this New Year’s Eve wedding, and muggy and rainy. But Kaitlyn and Sam were clearly there for their marriage as much as their wedding, and they rolled with the punches with beauty and grace, and it was a wonderful day.
