Were there any unique traditions that made the reception or ceremony memorable?
Shelley and Chuck are loads of fun, and their entire wedding day reflected that! They met at a music festival and are big fans of music, New Orleans, festivals and friends. They entered their reception to Kid Rock’s “Bawitdaba” blaring, with smoke machines pumping and confetti flying. It felt like the beginning of a concert! This same energy was present all day – the music and dancing were non-stop, the afterparty was planned and attended by everybody, and by the end of the reception all of their guests were wearing Mardi Gras beads and glow sticks. It was a blast!
What was special about the first time the bride and groom saw each other?
The bride and groom’s first look was perfect. Shelley and Chuck saw each other for the first time on a private balcony overlooking the Captain’s Deck, with the water and sky behind them. There were plenty of tears and lots of laughter, and it was so touching.
Were there special details with symbolic importance?
Shelley’s bouquet was adorned with four silver lockets, each with a beautiful photo of friends and family members who are no longer with us. It was a beautiful way to remember and recognize those who made an impact on her life.
Were there any children involved in the ceremony or reception that were memorable?
Shelley’s nephew stole the show as the ring bearer! He rode down the aisle on a miniature Harley Davidson motorcycle, with a big sign on the back that read “Don’t worry ladies – I’m still single!” He was a riot, loved being a part of the day, and was in the center of the dance floor all night long.
