What was your favorite detail from the wedding day?
I have seen a lot of wedding trends come and go over the last 10+ years photographing weddings, but I have to say I’ve been noticing one recently that I hope sticks around for a while! Cassie and Andy chose to welcome their guests with a pre-ceremony glass of champagne at the entrance to the courtyard of 5eleven for their downtown Pensacola wedding!! It was such an elegant touch and I love that not only does the champagne wall display look absolutely gorgeous, it sets a festive, celebratory tone for the entire event from the moment guests arrive!
What emotions were apparent on the wedding day?
Cassie and Andy had to postpone their wedding multiple times, but every time they did so I was struck by how calm and positive they were in spite of the circumstances. As I spent more time with them throughout their wedding day I discovered that is simply who they are. Easygoing, positive, incredibly kind people who were so excited to finally be able to celebrate their marriage with their family and friends.
What was special about the first time the bride and groom saw each other?
Cassie and Andy chose to do a first look, and she told me that morning that Andy would get pretty emotional, but I was unprepared for what that meant exactly. He was a bundle of nerves when we brought him upstairs into the bridal loft and when he turned around to see Cassie for the first time, overwhelmed with emotion, burst into the most joyful tears I have seen in a long time. Then Cassie started tearing up, I teared up, and I am pretty sure my second photographer, Sebastiane, did as well. He was so in awe of his gorgeous bride and couldn’t take his eyes off of her. It was truly my favorite moment of their day and one I am so happy to have witnessed.
