What was special about the first time the bride and groom saw each other?
The Grand Hotel in Fairhope, Alabama is just that – grand. The entire grounds are gorgeous and every corner has either beautiful trees, or a stunning lake and flowers. It’s one of my top venues I love to photograph at. I knew the “first look” spot would be easy to find because, like I said, the grand is magnificent. I took Will to a spot under a large tree that had the most beautiful spread out branches. Once I had him there, Will said that it was crazy I brought him to that particular place because it was the exact spot they would photograph their family every year and he felt everything was meant to be. I couldn’t believe it, out of all the places I could’ve taken them, this was the spot they would see each other. Then I brought Jessica to him. If I expressed to you all the love and tears that were shared between the two I might just start dropping tears on my keyboard. It was the sweetest moment, Will couldn’t have been happier to be marrying her on that gorgeous day.
Did the couple incorporate any pets in the wedding?
Yes they did – the absolute best! Right after the two of them saw each other, they made sure their first family portraits were with the sweet little lady and she was on her best behavior. She was so excited to see mom and dad.
What was your favorite detail from the wedding day?
It was a moment I will always remember. After the two of them tied the knot we went outside and spent a little more time taking portraits of just them. After we were done, Jessica asked Will if he wanted to practice their dance a little more before they left for the reception. With no hesitation and with a smile Will said yes and the two held hands and walked back inside where they had just said “I do”. They danced together while the pianist played. That sweet moment could’ve been ripped out of a book. I have to say it brought tears to my eyes.
