What Style of Engagement Session is Right for You?

Picking a location or style can be a little overwhelming because there are so many amazing spots in Pensacola and surrounding areas for an epic engagement session. The best place to start is thinking about your own personal styles and choosing a location that fits YOU, not the other way around! Are you dreaming of elegant photos in a fabulous gown, or are you more into snuggling under a blanket on the beach at sunset? Maybe you’re into riding motorcycles and grabbing a cocktail at a funky bar! If there is a place you think would be perfect, let’s do it! I’ve had couples in the past get permission to have their engagement portraits taken at a coffee shop or local brewery – it was so cute and I loved how it was all about them! If you have special access or get permission to a location that would otherwise be off-limits to most people, like a beautiful private estate let’s DO it!! This is a super special time in your love story and you want to do it right!

1. DOWNTOWN

There is something about beautiful architectural details, concrete stairs, and museums that can give your photos an elegant and classic look. From classic old Pensacola charm around Seville Square, to New Orleans style sidewalks along Palafox Street, Downtown Pensacola is a great choice for this style and has many spots to offer, all within easy walking distance of each other! To add a fun, nautical flair you have to check out the marina at the end of Palafox Street! The sunset views are incredible and all the boats in the background add a romantic, classic touch. This is a great spot to end your session during sunset!

2. RUSTIC AND CHIC

This style uses nature-inspired elements and is all about a setting that’s laid-back yet elegant. If you have a friend or family member who owns a barn, ranch, or even some hidden property in the country, it could be a great place to create rustic-chic engagement photos!

Fort Pickens is another rustic location with a historic and popular landmark of Pensacola. Seeing how the fort has been standing since 1834 is just simply incredible and definitely adds that vintage feel to your photos. Fort Pickens is surrounded by tons of nature, rustic and chicness!

3. GARDEN

Are you a fan of flowers and charm? We have the perfect locations in mind for you! From Mobile to 30a there are charming and enchanting gardens that include moss-draped live oak trees, colorful wildflower beds, and even greenhouses!

4. BEACH

For sea lovers we have the most beautiful beaches from Pensacola to Rosemary Beach. There’s no better place for an engagement session than a beach, where you get to have fun and enjoy the wind-swept, salty air, romantic sunsets and sun-kissed beauty all around you. Bring a blanket to snuggle under with your fiance for an extra cozy beach engagement session!

5. NATURE

Maybe you love the outdoors, but don’t necessarily love the beach and that is ok! Mother nature is so gorgeous and we are lucky to be surrounded by its opulent beauty. You can’t go wrong with any of our state and local parks! Woods, tall tussock grasses, waterview and driftwood – we can find it all in one place and get a TON of variety without ever driving to a separate location!

6. LIFESTYLE

Are you looking for something different and fun? How about incorporating an activity that the two of you enjoy? We have photographed our couples everywhere from cute coffee shops and breweries, to funky bars, local ice cream shops, and even in their own kitchens! If a fun lifestyle session seems more your style, I am excited to start planning! We want you to have fun during your session and love your photos!
