What was your favorite detail from the wedding day?
“It is hard to know where to begin! There were SO many thoughtful, personal touches through the day that it is nearly impossible to choose a favorite! I think the phrase, “to love, honor, cherish” repeating throughout the day is the one that stood out the most however. Lauren had it engraved into Nathan’s wedding band (to his surprise!) and hand painted on one of the delicate silk ribbons on her bouquet. It was such a simple, yet poignant reminder of what a wedding day and marriage is really all about!”
Did the weather cooperate on the wedding day?
“We had our doubts when the day began as is poured while everyone was getting ready, but just before the ceremony began, the sky cleared up and the sun peeked out. We were graced with dreamy light for their couples portraits afterward and I’m not much for superstition, but it seemed as though it was just for Lauren and Nathan’s special moment. It really was something special!”
Where there any special gifts shared between the bride and groom?
“It might be the first time in my wedding photography career that the bride and groom exchanged the same gifts without realizing it! They both gave each other a bible with “The Allen Family” embossed on the cover and I melted a little when we realized what they had done. If that weren’t sweet enough though, Nathan gave Lauren a bracelet with her NEW monogram engraved on it, while she gave him a gorgeous pair of monogrammed cufflinks. I loved how personal they were and how they will only grow in value over time!”
Were there any children involved in the ceremony or reception that were memorable?
“YES!! They included SEVEN of the most adorable flower girls and FOUR of the most dapper ring bearers I have ever seen!! They were all unbelievably sweet, showing me their best smiles all day long – I was obsessed with how precious they all were!!”
