What made the wedding venue special?
“Seaside, Florida is a special town. It feels like something out of a novel – beautiful cottages lining brick streets, bicycles being the preferred method of transportation, and book shops and cafes circling the central square. The chapel is a simple and lovely white clapboard structure, and I loved the way Deirdre and Mark chose to decorate it with vines and greenery so as to accentuate the natural elements.”
What was special about the first time the bride and groom saw each other?
“Deirdre and Mark did not do a first look, but they did want to share a prayer. They stood back to back in a quiet room, holding hands, and each took a turn saying a pre-wedding prayer. The overwhelming feeling in both of their words was GRATITUDE – for each other, for their families, for their blessings, and for their wedding day. A certain photographer (cough, cough), might have had tears streaming down her face behind her camera”.
What emotions were apparent on the wedding day?
“Total and complete joy. The bride and groom were both so incredibly lovely and kind, and were nearly jumping out of their skin in excitement to see each other. The wedding was absolutely stunningly beautiful, but Deirdre expressed anticipation only at seeing Mark.”
Was the exit exciting and unique?
“It was so fun! All of Deirdre and Mark’s guests lined up on the walkway outside of their reception tent, and waved silver shakers and LED glow balloons as the couple ran through to their getaway golf cart. There was so much laughter and joy!”
Where there special details with symbolic importance?
“Deirdre wore or carried a number of details with special importance – jewelry from her grandmothers and a lace handkerchief carried by all the women in her family, and embroidered with all of the brides’ initials. The father of the bride’s bowtie was embroidered with his own wedding date, as well as those of his two daughters. I always love seeing families who save meaningful heirlooms and think to bring them out for such meaningful occasions!”
