Did the weather cooperate on the wedding day?
“The weather was a fickle friend on Kim and Steven’s wedding day! Their ceremony had to be moved indoors due to a downpour in the afternoon. However, the sun shone through at just the right times! We were able to find a beautiful and dry area to shoot their first look and they were so happy! We also got the chance to take them and their amazingly fun bridal party out to the beach after the ceremony. Kim had already been so happy all day, even with the rain, but this was so special to her and I am so happy we were able to take advantage of the sunshine when it finally showed up!”
What was special about the first time the bride and groom saw each other?
“Kim and Steven were not planning to do a first look. However, since the weather threatened their plans to have beautiful outdoor photos, they decided to go ahead and see each other. Kim said didn’t think Steven would show much emotion because he’s pretty low key but boy was she proven wrong! There wasn’t a bigger smile that day besides hers! They were simply overjoyed to see each other and tie the knot no matter what the weather!”
What made the wedding venue special?
“This was the first time that I got to shoot a wedding at The Beach Club and it was truly beautiful. The wedding ceremony was originally set to be outdoors but mother nature forced us inside. This was no problem though because the clubhouse is so beautiful and there is so much light that filters in even on a cloudy day!”
What made the reception enjoyable?
“Dancing, dancing, and more dancing!!! Everyone was ready to celebrate and they didn’t hold back! I am pretty sure that every single guest hit the dance floor at one point during the reception. There were a couple of special requests that put a huge smile on my face! Kim and her Mom, Dad, and brother did a special family dance to Sweet Child O Mine by Guns N Roses. Yes, you read that correctly! Let me tell it was so fun to watch them! So much joy! Then they asked Marty, the amazing DJ, to play Bad Medicine by Bon Jovi and it was dedicated to all of the pharmacists in the room! LOL! And there were SO MANY pharmacists in the room! Kim is a pharmacist, Steven is a pharmacist, several of their family members are pharmacists, and a ton of their friends from pharmacy school were at the wedding. Needless to say, everyone was loving it!”
Was there an exceptional vendor?
“When it rains on your wedding day, each vendor has to make an alternate plan and roll with it. I was so impressed with Sissy and Deanna from IDO Weddings! They made an early call about the weather and it set Kim’s mind at ease and allowed her to truly enjoy her day because she knew everything was being handled in the best possible way. Marty Stanovich, their amazing DJ, also kicked the reception fun into high gear and played all of their favorite songs. It’s was an 80s rock night on the dance floor and everyone had a blast!”
