What made the wedding venue special?
“Laurel and Austin planned their tented wedding reception outdoors at the Pensacola Country Club. This is such a beautiful and unique venue – it is right on the waters of Pensacola Bay so the view is stunning, but unlike the beach, there is a sweeping lawn leading all the way down from the clubhouse to the water. Both Austin and Laurel’s father (and many others in attendance!) are avid golfers, so it was especially lovely seeing these families celebrate in a place they knew so well that came with years of memories.”
What emotions were apparent on the wedding day?
“The bride and groom were both incredibly joyful, all day. Laurel gave me a hug at least 10 times throughout the day, and it was so wonderful to see just how happy she and Austin were to be marrying each other. Their families were equally kind and thrilled, and this made for a day that was stress-free and a blast for everyone involved – including me!”
What was special about the first time the bride and groom saw each other?
“Laurel grew up in a beautiful home on Pensacola Bay, and she and Austin saw each other for the first time in her backyard. As we were photographing the couple, they shared that they treasure a photo of them from their high school prom in the same location – so of course, we recreated the photo! Every location throughout the day, from Laurel’s home, to the church, to the country club, was infused with meaning and a history to this couple.”
Where there special details with symbolic importance?
“Laurel had a beautiful bee brooch pinned to her bouquet. She is part of a very tight-knit group of women, and they pass the brooch around so every one of them has carried it at their own weddings! Laurel is now the guardian of the bee – until the next wedding!”
How did the parent’s react upon seeing their son/daughter?
“The father of the bride joked that he was carrying extra handkerchiefs in his jacket. I didn’t really believe it until the reception, when he pulled one out and four more fell to the floor! There were plenty of teary eyes at this wedding, especially between parents and their children!”
