What made the wedding venue special?
“This was the first opportunity I have had to photograph a wedding at the Barn at Water Oaks and I fell in love!! The property is expansive and so beautiful, with the most amazing indoor and outdoor spaces. At the entrance are massive, weathered barn doors with elegant white draping and stunning chandelier – it was the perfect spot for an amazing night portrait of the bride and groom! I adored the sweet white pews in the ceremony space and I was blown away when Samantha told me all of the decor was included as part of the venue. It is clear the owners have put so much care and effort into their venue, and it was such a pleasure spending the day there!”
Did the weather cooperate on the wedding day?
“Yes!! It was a gorgeous, sunny, early spring day! Not too hot, not too cold, and we were graced with the prettiest golden sunset light for Samantha and Kalan’s portrait session. We couldn’t have asked for a more perfect day!”
Were there any children involved in the ceremony or reception that were memorable?
“Samantha and Kalan have three ADORABLE children, and I loved how involved they were in every part of the day!! This may be the first and last wedding I’ll ever photograph where the cake cutting and subsequent cake smashing was a family affair – I laughed so hard I had tears coming out of my eyes when the kids smashed cake in their parent’s faces!
What emotions were apparent on the wedding day?
“Pure, unadulterated joy! They were truly just so happy to be there, with each other, their family, and friends. No one took themselves too seriously and we sincerely had the very best day celebrating with them!!”
