What was your favorite detail from the wedding day?
“There were so many beautiful details that both Mary Claire and Jake had chosen for their wedding day! However, the clear winner for me was Mary Claire’s custom made coffee mug! She is a self-proclaimed Friends fanatic and she had a mug made that says “The one where Mary and Jake get married”. Are all of you Friends fans out there smiling as big as I was when I saw it???”
What was unique about the bridal party’s attire?
“The bridesmaids, all 10 of them, got to choose one of three beautiful pastel colors and they got to choose how they could tie their sashes. It created such a gorgeous visual for their pictures and each bridesmaid’s personality got to peek through. So much fun!”
What was special about the first time the bride and groom saw each other?
“Mary Claire and Jake decided to do a first look! I loved that all of their friends and family were hiding around the corner because they just couldn’t wait to see them! Joy just radiated from their faces when they finally saw each other, followed by so much love and laughter! They also opted to take all of the wedding party and family portraits before their ceremony. This was a great choice for them as they wanted to get to the reception as quickly as they could. Doing the majority of their portraits after their first look freed us up to do their couple’s session directly after the ceremony and then swing right into the reception.”
What was the couple’s session like?
“We had such beautiful light for their couple’s portraits!!! I was bubbling with excitement as I clicked away! Mary Claire and Jake have known each other since they were eight years old! How amazing is that? Their comfort with each other and the way they just fit together like puzzle pieces was a beautiful thing to see. The camera loves these two and the connection between them made this session one of my favorites ever!”
Were there any children involved in the ceremony or reception that were memorable?
“Not only did Mary Claire and Jake have 21 people in their wedding party (holy smokes!), they also had two ushers, a beautiful Junior Bridesmaid, four flower girls, and two ring bearers. I mean, talk about having a lot of people who love you! It was so much fun to see how each person played such an important role in the day. It was also a joy to see these amazing little humans dance and have an absolute blast at the reception. At one point, the youngest flower girls had complete charge of the dance floor and it might have just been one the best moments of the whole day!”
