What was your favorite detail from the wedding day?
“Oh my stars, can we please just talk about Summer’s STUNNING Martina Liana gown?! The detail and beading was so intricate and unique, and it fit her PERFECTLY!! I was unfamiliar with this designer until just a few weeks ago, so I was super excited to see and photograph one of their gorgeous gowns in person so soon!!”
What made the wedding venue special?
“The Destin Bay House is a longtime favorite venue of mine! Nestled among the oaks on Choctawhatchee Bay, this gorgeous venue manages to be both elegant and relaxed, and is perfectly tucked away from the bustle of Destin just a few blocks away. I’ve always loved that the Bay House allowed couples to have a coastal wedding without all the sand, and at a venue where everything from hair and makeup to the big send-off at the end of the night all in one place, but they went and made it even better with the addition of Cottages by the Bay across the street. The cottages are so adorable and provide a unique option for couples to be surrounded by friends and family before and after the big day!”
What emotions were apparent on the wedding day?
“Summer was so calm when we arrived and I loved that she and her bridal party were all having so much fun while they got ready, but my favorite part of any wedding day is when the bride steps into her dress. There is always a wave of emotion in that moment and I love being able to witness it. While Summer was getting ready she was overcome by tears and it was such a beautiful moment (tears of joy or nerves will always make your photographer happy!) that I was thrilled to photograph.”
What made the reception enjoyable?
“Summer is a ballroom instructor (I KNOW!!), so I was prepared to see some awesome moves on at their reception. Rachel and I had the best time watching her and her ballroom family tearing up the dance floor and both agreed at the end of the night learning how to dance beyond the eight grade sway is a must!!”
