What was your favorite detail from the wedding day?
“The groom’s last name is ‘Appleyard,’ and I loved the way apples were woven throughout the day. The bar during cocktail hour was shaded by a tree dripping with lacquered ‘apples.’ The couple wore amazing, kitschy sunglasses for their exit – the lenses were in the shape of – you guess it – apples! And my personal favorite is their wedding hashtag: ‘appley ever after!’”
What emotions were apparent on the wedding day?
“Joy! Mallory and Rick were giggly and excited and ready to have a great time – with their family, their friends, and with each other.”
What made the wedding venue special?
“Have you been to Seaside, Florida? If so, then you understand why this town is special – every piece of it! The community is almost too perfect to be real (they actually filmed The Truman Show there, which kind of proves my point). The brick streets are lined with beautiful homes, each with unique and interesting architectural details. Don’t want to drive? Walking and biking paths wind through the town, alongside white picket fences and tropical foliage. Rick and Mallory chose to use the central areas of Seaside for their incredible wedding – the ceremony was held in the Seaside chapel, a white painted chapel with three-story windows that allow sunlight to stream in. The reception was held in Ruskin Place, a quiet, tree-lined artists’ community. The space was transformed with hanging lanterns, market lights, and lush floral arrangements everywhere you looked.”
What was the couple’s session like?
“Magic. It was an overcast day – but as Mallory and Rick said their vows, the sun broke through and gave us the prettiest sunset. My favorite moment was when they were busy canoodling and a rogue wave splashed them; without hesitation, Rick scooped up Mallory and saved the hem of her classic Carolina Herrera gown.”
What made the band exceptional?
“I loved this band! A-Town A-List (from Atlanta) was incredible. They had tons of energy, and everyone on the stage oozed talent. The dance floor was packed the entire evening. One unusual detail was the dance team that Mallory and Rick asked to perform – the led the guests in a series of dances, and then spent the evening dancing in front of the band, hyping the guests and entertaining everyone with some pretty amazing moves.”
