What made the wedding venue special?
“Sarah and Clay chose Santa Rosa Beach for their wedding, and it was just as gorgeous as ever. Clay is from the Florida Gulf coast, but Sarah and her family are from Germany, so it felt very much like a true destination wedding. They rented the most incredible beach home, nestled high atop a dune and overlooking a stunning stretch of beach and the aqua waters of the Gulf of Mexico. The interior was decorated in whites and ivories, with floor to ceiling windows that allowed natural light to flood in. Basically, it was a photographer’s dream (thanks Sarah and Clay!).”
What emotions were apparent on the wedding day?
“So much joy. From the minute we walked into the home, we felt happiness and joy from everyone. Sarah was calm and collected and little giddy, sipping champagne in the enormous master suite with her bridesmaids. It was a perfect day – clear, breezy, and with just enough fall nip in the air to make it comfortable and lovely outdoors. All of the doors in the home were thrown open, which really brought the beautiful beachy vibe inside. Clay couldn’t keep a smile off his face, and the sounds of laughter trickled throughout the house. Their guests were relaxed and many of them enjoyed the early afternoon by the swimming pool, or played cornhole on the back porch.”
What was the couple’s session like?
“Like the rest of the day, Sarah and Clay’s couple’s session was magical. The light was absolutely perfect – golden and warm, fading into soft pastels as the sun set. What made the session even more enjoyable was the obvious fact that the bride and groom were just enjoying being together, and alone, for the first time that day! They hugged, kissed, and chatted while we made absolutely stunning photos.”
Was the exit exciting and unique?
“Well, there wasn’t an ‘exit’ per se because most of the guests stayed after the celebration officially ended, BUT we did follow everyone to the beach at the end of the evening for a final champagne toast! I don’t want to give too much away (seriously – do yourself a favor and scroll to the end of the blog for the picture!), but what happened was an amazing explosion of champagne and laughter, making sure we left with smiles on our faces (and a little bubbly on our shoulders).
