Did the weather cooperate on the wedding day?
“At Steelwood Country Club in Loxley, Alabama I think the weather could be horrible and the venue would still be beautiful. The day Kassy and Jimmy said their ‘I dos,” the weather tried to scare a lot of people with scattered summer showers. In the end though, it was absolutely perfect. The weather was cool and it brought a certain vibe to Steelwood that I think was the perfect touch.”
Why was the stationery suite so exceptional?
“Minted never disappoints. If you know me, you might know I love love LOVE paper – stationery, journals, notepads any of that amazing goodness. Kassy and Jimmy purchased their stationary suite from Minted and made exceptional choices. They were thick, a beautiful neutral color, with an amazing texture, and exquisite font. All making for a perfect picture at Steelwood Country Club; it all fit right in.”
How did the parent’s react upon seeing their son/daughter?
“Words cannot describe the sweet moments between Kassy and her father when she appeared for “dad’s first look.” The pride that this father had for his daughter was like no other. He looked at her not really trying to hold back the tears, and one could just see how proud his was of his once baby girl. Anyone standing around saw him hug his daughter with pride while her mother was looking over in the distance with tears and pride herself. It was definitely a moment for the books for me.”
Were there any unique traditions that made the ceremony or reception memorable?
“The family was of Scottish descent so they made sure to include some beautiful traditions throughout the day. The attire for one was on point, where certain men wore traditional dress of Scotland consisting of kilts, sporrans, a sgian dubh (a small, single-edged knife) a kilt hose, and ghillies; while their wives came in beautiful tartan sashes. During the ceremony the Reverend performed a traditional handfasting with a tartan symbolizing their union and binding their hands together to symbolize their union. They also made sure to have a piper there to play beautiful music with his bagpipes during the ceremony as well as during the reception.”
What made the reception enjoyable?
“I loved how everyone interacted with one another, young and old. Everyone was there for Kassy and Jimmy and you could truly see how they loved them both so much. People stayed all the way to the end really enjoying each other, whether it was telling stories of the past or dancing in the night… it was all such a pleasure.”
