“I am usually an emotional person, but I can’t cry today. I am so happy, I just can’t stop smiling.”
If there were one phrase or sentence that sums up the spirit of Rachel and Thomas’s wedding day, this would be the one. Rachel said it to me when she read the letter Thomas had written for her that morning, and while she may not have been able to cry, I welled up a bit in that moment. And again, when Thomas’s mom cried at seeing Rachel in her wedding dress for the first time. And again, when Thomas cried at seeing his bride for the first time. And again, during the toasts when it was stated that Thomas had once said if he could live anywhere it the world, he would choose to be wherever Rachel was (ok, THAT one got me big time.) But Rachel beamed with the brightest smile through every single moment, just like she said she couldn’t stop doing that morning.
I think joy is truly the most beautiful thing a bride can wear on her wedding day. Rachel, you wore it so well. Thank you and Thomas both for giving me the opportunity to witness and document your wedding day. Cheers to so many more days in the future where you’re so happy you just can’t stop smiling.
