Winter weddings are my favorite. I love the way our beach takes on a creamy, pastel quality as soon as the temperature starts to dip. The skies get soft and lovely, the white sand looks like snow in the cool light, and the water is clear as glass. Anna and Bobby’s winter wedding at Portofino Island Resort in Pensacola Beach was perfect. They married on the pool deck, overlooking the Sound, with blue skies behind them and gorgeous red roses dripping from the draped arbor overhead. Their families and friends laughed and cried right along with them, and the couple’s happiness to be married was written across their faces as they walked back down the aisle. I was thrilled that we had enough light to pop across to the Gulf of Mexico for a few minutes . . . and I was even more excited when Anna whipped out the cutest, vintage-looking cream fur capelet.
The reception was tons of fun, with everyone dancing up a storm (including Bobby’s grandmother, who was the last one off the floor at the end of the night!). Anna and Bobby exited under an arch of sparklers, and I loved the sweet (and genuine!) hug she gave me at the end of the tunnel. Congrats!
