Christy + Rick – Wedding

It seems like a lot of our recent blog posts have focused on how much we love Pensacola. How about we step into a different state and discuss this gorgeous Biloxi wedding? Christy and Rick are hoteliers in Biloxi, Mississippi, so what better place to host their wedding celebration than the legendary Beau Rivage? I knew I was in a new place the second I walked through the front doors. Glimmering lights, casino bells and murmurs blanketing the atmosphere, soaring ceilings, and most of all, an overwhelming energy took over my senses. I arrived early and spent about 30 minutes walking through the resort and casino, scouting backdrops for incredible photo opportunities and soaking in the festive vibe. Christy and her girls were getting ready in a gorgeous suite, high up in the towers. They laughed and helped each other perfect hair and makeup, and the two adorable flower girls bounced around, looking out the window, twirling in their fluffy tulle dresses, and singing to one another. Christy was calm and beautiful, and looked every inch the bride as she slipped into her Vera Wang lace gown. She was the perfect counterpoint for Rick, in his classic black tuxedo, exuding all the handsomeness…

There were a lot of memorable things about Christy and Rick’s Beau Rivage wedding – they included a champagne model (an actual woman wearing a dress whose elaborate metal skirt held full glasses of champagne for the guests to grab at their convenience!), dancers who twirled through the reception ballroom, a face painter for the children (and some adults), and a live event painter creating an oil painting of the party as it unfolded. Personally, I loved the way Christy and Rick merged their Vietnamese traditions with a classic American wedding. The Vietnamese emcee and performers kept the events rolling with a mix of American and Vietnamese music, which helped keep all of their guests involved and entertained. At the end of the evening, the bride and groom were showered with confetti as they made their way off as husband-and-wife, full of smiles and beauty.
