I think downtown Pensacola is such a special area with so many incredible options for dining, shopping, or spending a leisurely afternoon on a patio with good friends, good wine, and maybe a chance dog visit. The atmosphere is casual and comfortably small town, but with enough panache to keep it interesting. I think downtown Pensacola weddings are even more special because they combine that leisurely vibe with all the joy and celebration that comes along with a wedding, and events at all of the fantastic venues that dot Palafox Street are some of my very favorites to photograph. Megan and Michael had an absolutely gorgeous wedding at the always lovely 5eleven Palafox and I was thrilled to be the person to photograph their day. We had a little scare earlier in the week that Irma might spoil their plans, but as it turned out the cold front that protected us from the storm also granted us the most beautiful autumn weather (a couple of months early!) and, sunny clear skies for the day. I loved their clean, modern aesthetic with the prettiest emerald and grey color palette, and the spaces at 5eleven were the perfect locations for their outdoor ceremony and reception. They incorporated so many sweet, personal elements, but my favorites by far were the cutest flower and ring pups, Henley and Gatsby, who joined us for wedding party portraits and second line closing out the end of the evening (so much fun!!).
Thank you Megan and Michael for trusting us to photograph your day! I can’t imagine a prettier wedding for two more wonderful people. I hope to see you both (and my new best friends Henley and Gatsby!) over a leisurely afternoon glass of wine on a patio again soon.
