Genna + Michael – Wedding

Genna and Michael chose to marry in the historic district of downtown Pensacola. I had the pleasure of working with Genna’s family just a few years ago when I photographed her brother’s wedding (Greg and Lacey, love you guys!). I also LOVE to see families that are close and I thought it was so cool that Genna chose to have Lacey as her Matron of Honor, and Michael had Greg as one of his groomsmen. Everything about their big day was amazing! The weather was gorgeous, the details were simple, yet elegant, and all related to this celebration just gushed with joy and happiness. They decided that they’d rather not have a first look before the ceremony, which took place in Old Christ Church. Michael was to see his beautiful bride for the very first time in the traditional manner, marching down the aisle to him, arm in arm with her father. The church was warmly lit by the late afternoon sun casting through the stained glass as the couple gazed lovingly into one another’s eyes.

Lately, our weather here in Pensacola has been so much better than I remember it being in Mays past. The skies were bright, the sun was shining, and the temperature was lovely. I always enjoy trying new things with my clients, and when the weather is fully cooperative as was the case, it gives me time to really engage and work on capturing their hearts for one another in a variety of different locations and lighting situations. Genna and Michael were also so easy and wonderful to work with.

The reception was held at the Lee House, which is just a couple of blocks from the church. The large wedding party danced in to the sound of the band, and I don’t think there was a single dull moment the entire night. The toasts were amazing, bouquet and garter went off without a hitch, and I don’t think anyone caught on fire from the sparklers J. I want to thank you, Genna, for allowing Rachel O. and I to be there for you guys. It truly was a pleasure!
