Callah + Justin – Wedding

One of the things I always get excited about seeing when I arrive to photograph a wedding are the ways in which couples personalize their days. Callah and Justin’s classic and casual wedding at the Lee House in downtown Pensacola was such a beautiful example of a couple focusing on the details that were significant to them instead of the things that weren’t all that important to them – and that makes it difficult to say what my favorite element was.

I loved her understatedly elegant, split-back Jill Jill Stuart gown, but loved it even more that she saved on the gown so she could splurge on the most beautiful sparkly Jimmy Choos. And I loved the gorgeous art deco heirloom earring she wore, but loved it more that her mother wore them on her own wedding day. I will say that one of the most unique details at their wedding though, (and possibly one of the coolest details I’ve ever seen) was Justin’s wedding band. It was handmade for him by his step-dad from a dinosaur bone!! How amazing is that?

From their sweet and funny ceremony officiated by Callah’s step-father (because he was better than a stranger they didn’t know!) and live-streamed for her brother who couldn’t be there, to the relaxed al fresco reception in the courtyard, each piece of the day told a little more about who they are.

Callah and Justin, thank you so much for letting us spend the day with you and your family, and friends. It was a perfect spring wedding and I am so happy to have been the person to document it for you!
