Mambwe + Christian – Wedding

I first met Mambwe and Christian on a sunny day here at our studio in downtown Pensacola. They didn’t have an appointment scheduled (we really do love our walk-in clients here at AKP!), and just wanted to check out our work and discuss their upcoming wedding. We hit it off great, and I was super excited when they decided to invite me to be their photographer. One of the first things about their story that I found interesting is that Christian is from Germany and Mambwe is from Zambia. We didn’t get into too many details of their story at our first meeting, but I thought “this wedding is going to be amazing!” The beauty of how the two families, traveling from so far away, came together to celebrate was nothing less than beautiful. It was absolute joy!

The toasts were a highlight of the night. Mambwe’s friends and brother shared many great stories, but it was the talk of how Christian was still living in Germany (and their Sunday night Skype dates and countless roundtrip plane flights) that stirred everyone’s emotions. It was even mentioned just how many thousands of miles Christian traveled showing his devotion to Mambwe before they were engaged.
