What was special about the first time the bride and groom saw each other?
Kristyn and Lucas’s first look was a tearjerker for sure! While they recited traditional Christian marriage vows during their church ceremony, they did write personal vows to one another and read them aloud at the first look. It was so sweet – no one heard the vows except for them, so they were private and meaningful and made a special moment even more extraordinary.
What was your favorite detail from the wedding day?
Definitely, the silver disco balls! These were such a fun nod to the holiday spirit (it’s New Year’s Eve wedding, after all!) – there were larger ones clustered over the dance floor, and tiny ones glittering amidst lush flowers in the ceiling installation. They were gorgeous and added a ton of personality!
Did the weather cooperate on the wedding day?
It was possibly the most perfect weather day of the entire year. Blue skies, 70 degrees, and no humidity (which here on the Gulf Coast is a pretty big deal!). The most gorgeous way to say goodbye to 2019!
What emotions were apparent on the wedding day?
Kristyn and Lucas were just so darn happy! They were obviously thrilled to be marrying each other, and their friends and family were just as excited. The couple has been together since the 9th grade so most of the guests there know them only as a pair, which was amazing to see.
What made the reception enjoyable?
I love shooting holiday weddings because everyone arrives ready to have a great time!
Was there an exceptional vendor?
Megan K. Events planned and executed this wedding, and it was perfection. Her team kept everything running on schedule and everyone happy – and handed out fresh Krispy Kreme donuts as a snack just before midnight (what more could a gal ask for?).
