My favorite thing about photographing weddings is the PEOPLE. I have the unusual pleasure of getting to know so many different families, and always during one of the most meaningful and joyful days in their lives. I often don’t have the opportunity to meet my clients in person until the actual wedding day (destination wedding problems!), and I’ve learned to walk into every wedding with an open heart and I often walk away with new relationships that last for years to come.
Sidney and Nate’s wedding as different.
I have known Sidney’s family for years – I even photographed her (and her brother’s) senior portraits several years back! Walking into Live Oak on her wedding day to Nate felt like coming home to family, and that feeling of warmth and kindness radiated throughout the day. Nate is handsome and calm and sharp as tack, and it was such a pleasure to get to know him a bit – and it is SO obvious that he and Sidney are the perfect match. They planned the prettiest winter Live Oak wedding, and there were so many moments that brought me to tears. My favorite part was watching Sidney’s relationship with her sweet mother, Tina – the two of them shared so many beautiful moments and shed lots of tears, and those moments are my favorite.
I would remiss if I didn’t mention that Sidney and Nate almost didn’t make their own wedding! They were married the weekend after the once-in-a-lifetime snowfall (10 feet in Pensacola, WHAT?!?!), and it took them 24 hours to drive into town (a drive that usually takes a short afternoon). I’ve always thought that the things that go “wrong” are the best part of your wedding story, and the snow gave Sidney and Nate a truly unique story!
