What emotions were apparent on the wedding day?
Of course, there was a lot of excitement, anticipation, nerves, and joy, but the overwhelming emotion at this faith-filled wedding was reverence. Their faith is very important to Christa and Nick, and prayer was present in every aspect of their wedding. One of the most important things to the couple was that they have the opportunity to spend the minutes prior to their ceremony in prayer. While Nick and his groomsmen prayed the rosary in the library, Christa found a beautiful stairwell in the back of the church that was illuminated with the most gorgeous sunlight, and THIS is where she wanted to pray! It was truly special, witnessing her bridesmaids pray over her as sunlight streamed through the window onto her face.
What was your favorite detail from the wedding day?
Christa and Nick put so much thought and intention into their wedding. It truly felt like every detail and decision was representative of the two of them, and I loved that. My favorite detail was the inclusion of sunflowers throughout the day. The wedding rings were given to me in a beautiful sunflower dish, the bouquets had cheerful yellow sunflowers keeping them bright and happy, and all of the signage at the reception was decorated with – you guessed it – sunflowers!
Were there any unique traditions that made the reception or ceremony memorable?
At their wedding reception, Christa and Nick performed a traditional foot washing ceremony, symbolizing the humility and self-sacrifice required for a happy marriage. It was another beautiful way for this couple to incorporate their faith into their faith-filled wedding day.
