Was there an exceptional vendor?
Anyone who has planned a wedding will tell you that it can be challenging at times and planning a destination wedding can bring even more difficulty. I firmly believe that a great wedding planner is the solution to those issues! For their destination beach wedding at the Lodge at Gulf State Park, Annie and Cooper worked with the ever-incredible Carol McCracken from Orange Beach Weddings. This was the second time we had the opportunity to work together and she was just as wonderful as the first time! When faced with unexpected challenges the afternoon for their wedding, Carol was quick to present solutions all with a kind word and a smile on her face – working with her is always such a pleasure!
What made the reception enjoyable?
Annie wanted a wedding day that felt beachy, relaxed, and most importantly FUN! Holding their reception at the iconic Flora-Bama Lounge was the perfect venue for creating that atmosphere! Guests were greeted at the door with mini-bushwackers (if you’ve never had one you must try one, trust me!), and an oyster bar, and enjoyed music on the deck by the Smokey Otis Band. It was reminiscent of the perfect summer Saturday night at your favorite beach bar and exactly what Annie and Cooper were hoping for!
Was the exit exciting and unique?
I have photographed a LOT of grand exits in the last 15 years as a wedding photographer, but never one as long as this one! At the end of the night their guests filled the entire boardwalk behind the Flora-Bama while Annie and Cooper made their way through clouds of bubbles all the way out to the sand! It was SO much fun and the perfect way to end their wedding at the beach!
