What made the wedding venue special?
At Alicia and Christian’s Pensacola Yacht Club wedding, it felt like the club was a second home. The Pensacola Yacht Club is a beautiful venue, perched on a gorgeous lawn overlooking the special spot that Bayou Chico meets Pensacola Bay – it is always a great place for a wedding! The bride’s family are members and right in the middle of the reception, in a place of honor, was a beautiful wooden game table. Right on the face of the table, you can read that it was donated to the Pensacola Yacht Club in 2013, by Alicia’s family. These little moments of connection are my favorite bit of weddings, and it was so meaningful to see the ways that the bride and groom incorporated their history and their families into their wedding decisions.
What made the reception enjoyable?
The dancing and Latin music! Both the bride and groom come from Cuban families, and a huge portion of their guests traveled up from Miami – and the dance floor was full all night! Ramsey, the awesome DJ, played a perfect mix of Latin music and modern hits, and everyone was happy!
Was there an exceptional vendor?
Fete and Flora Events handled the planning, coordination, florals and decor – and they did a wonderful job! Everything was beautiful and ran so smoothly, allowing the couple and their families to dance the evening away!
What was the couple’s session like?
Alicia and Christian planned their wedding day so that the reception ended at 8:15pm, just at dusk. This means that their sunset couple’s session was the last thing we did together, and I loved that! By the time we started their romantic wedding portraits, we had already been together all day, so everyone was relaxed and comfortable. Alicia and Christian just fit perfectly together – they were completely in sync with one another and it made my heart happy watching them together, at the end of their wedding day.
