What was special about the first time the bride and groom saw each other?
John and Jonna got dressed in the same hotel suite, and it was the sweetest! John even helped his bride clasp her necklace as she put on the finishing touches, and I loved watching this couple be a COUPLE as they prepared to be married.
Were there any children involved in the ceremony or reception that were memorable?
There were so many children involved in this wedding, and it was wonderful! Between the two of them, John and Jonna have six grandchildren, and there were many other young ones who had a blast dancing around the reception all night long! Really, this wedding felt very much like two families coming together, and the celebration wasn’t limited to the bride and groom – everyone loved dancing the night away at this rainy day tropical Destin wedding! Hugs and laughter abounded in every corner of the ballroom and I loved witnessing it.
Did the weather cooperate on the wedding day?
Unfortunately, Jonna and John experienced a nasty Florida thunderstorm on their wedding day, and just before the ceremony, they pivoted and moved their beach wedding indoors. The planner and the staff at the Henderson were amazing, and they transformed the beautiful ballroom into a ceremony setup in a flash! The bright, tropical flowers brought some sunshine indoors, and the only moisture was coming from the (many, many) tears I spotted their guests shedding!
Was there an exceptional vendor?
Yes! Michelle did an amazing job as the planner and coordinator, making sure the bride and groom had everything they needed. She was flexible and stress free as she navigated last minute changes due to weather, and it was an absolute pleasure to work with her.
