Tell me about the couple’s choice of color palette.
For their destination wedding at The Lodge at Gulf State Park in Gulf Shores, Alabama, Lauren and Carl chose a classic black and white color palette, accented with pops of gold. From the gorgeous black chiffon Jenny Yoo bridesmaid dresses, to the groom’s classic white dinner jacket every detail was perfectly coordinated and oh-so elegant. It was such an unexpected choice for a destination wedding at the beach and I LOVED it!!
Was there an exceptional vendor?
I believe one of the very best investments a couple can make for their wedding day is a great wedding planner or coordinator. Wedding days can get a little chaotic at times and someone who can keep the show running while minimizing any potential stress on the couple, and their guests is worth their weight in gold! Carol from Orange Beach Weddings was their day-of coordinator and she did a phenomenal job keeping the day running smoothly with a smile on her face, and kind professionalism at every turn. She was such a pleasure to work with!
Were there any unique traditions that made the reception or ceremony memorable?
I LOVE a good confetti toss on a wedding day, but we don’t see them very often because the clean-up issue can be challenging. Their venue did not allow for confetti for their grand send off at the end of the night so Lauren planned instead for their wedding party to pop white confetti cannons at the end of their first dance! As Carl dipped her for a kiss at the end of their dance, TONS of white confetti fluttered down around them. It was such a gorgeous, magical moment that I am sure they will remember forever!!
