What made the wedding venue special?
Britt and Richie planned their downtown Pensaocla wedding so thoughtfully, and they utilized one of my very favorite Pensacola wedding venues, 5eleven Palafox. I love the variety of spaces provided at this venue, which overlooks bustling Palafox Street in the heart of downtown Pensacola. The bridal loft upstairs is literally perfection, and the light is so gorgeous and was the perfect background for Britt and her family as they got her ready to walk down the aisle. The courtyard is lovely and green and romantic, and we were able to take the sweetest set of couple’s portraits there, without having to leave the venue (a treat on a gloomy Saturday that threatened rain all day!). The white brick interior was a beautiful place to arrange tables (all beautifully adorned with lush, blue hydrangeas), and the side lawn was tented and full of dancers all night long! It’s rare to work in a venue that offers so much variety (all stunning) in so little square footage, and that makes 5eleven Palafox something special!
What was the couple’s session like?
Right after the ceremony at First Baptist Church, I stole Britt and Richie away for a few minutes and we took the prettiest portraits of the two of them on the side streets around the church. We found ivy-covered walls, Civil-War-era cannons, majestic live oaks and classic architecture – all within a half-block walk! Britt and Richie are both so lovely and so sweet with one another, and I loved this time with them.
Was the exit exciting and unique?
Britt and Richie’s band was wonderful, and the dance floor was packed until the last note of the last song. All of their guests grabbed a sparkler and they lined up on the sidewalk outside 5eleven, right on the main drag in downtown Pensacola. The bride and groom made their way through a tunnel of sparklers, and then hopped in the most amazing vintage Karmann Ghia and zipped away into the evening – it a magical end to the perfect, downtown Pensacola wedding.
