What was special about the first time the bride and groom saw each other?
Wedding days can be a whirlwind of activity and sometimes it can seem like the couple spends more time with their friends, and family than with each other so I love seeing more and more of our couples create space on their wedding days to spend time with each other privately. A first look is a fantastic way to carve out that time and Taylor and Greyson chose to do one for their wedding at the always-gorgeous Watercolor Resort in Santa Rosa Beach. Not only did they choose to do a first look, they opted to read their vows to each other privately at that moment. I thought it was such a sweet, intimate expression of their love for each other and was such a joy to witness!
Were there any unique traditions that made the reception or ceremony memorable?
Taylor and Greyson’s officiant began their ceremony by telling their guests that Taylor’s dad had chosen to dedicate a song to the couple, at which time we heard a beautiful rendition of “Make You Feel My Love.” Initially I thought it was their ceremony musician playing guitar and singing with a pre-recorded piano track, but realized after a minute or so that her sweet father was actually playing the keyboard. Later when I told Taylor that I thought it was one of the sweetest ceremony moments I had ever witnessed she told me that she had grown up hearing her dad play the piano, and couldn’t imagine having her wedding without him playing for her.
What was unique about the bride and groom’s attire?
We make a lot of hullabaloo over the gorgeous gowns we see regularly and Taylor’s was stunning, but it is less often that we see our grooms attire get the same attention and I think it is time to change that! For their wedding, Taylor gifted Greyson a custom suit from Guffey’s of Atlanta and he looked fantastic! It was so refreshing to see the groom getting the same kind of attention as the bride for their big day!
