What made the wedding venue special?
For their intimate, downtown Pensacola wedding, Heidi and Mike chose the Bodacious Shops as their wedding venue. Their wedding was the first I have photographed in that space, and I loved how warm, and cozy it was – perfect for a micro-wedding!! The very best part though, was the balcony overlooking Palafox Street, which was all dressed up for the season in thousands of twinkling white lights. It was absolutely magical and oh-so-gorgeous for a few nighttime portraits of them!!
What was special about the first time the bride and groom saw each other?
I love when my couples want to do things a little outside the box on their wedding days and Heidi had a specific vision in mind for their first look. Having spent a lot of time there early in their relationship, Fort Pickens holds some very special memories for them and Heidi wanted to pay a little homage to that in their wedding photos. They chose to do their first look with the repeating arches inside Fort Pickens, and it was BEAUTIFUL!
What was the couple’s session like?
Christmastime is, in my opinion, when downtown Pensacola is prettiest! Heidi and Mike also love the lights and wanted to take advantage of them by scheduling a portion of their portraits to take place after the sun went down! It was such a fun change of pace, and I am obsessed with their gorgeous, city-sidewalk portraits!!
