Did the weather cooperate on the wedding day?
Not only did the weather cooperate, but it was absolutely a perfect day. Alex and Jordan’s outdoor lakeside wedding took place on the very first truly “fall” day of the year. The sky was robin’s egg blue, there was no humidity in the air (a miracle here in coastal Florida), and a gentle breeze kept the bugs away. It was absolutely perfect. The last time I photographed Alex and Jordan was during their engagement session last summer, and we got stuck in the woods during a freak summer storm. I think we all breathed a sigh of relief that their wedding day cooperated!
What was special about the first time the bride and groom saw each other?
Alex and Jordan chose not to see each other prior to the ceremony, so the first time they caught sight of each other was when Alex began walking down the aisle. There was so much emotion in that moment! Jordan couldn’t stop crying (thank goodness the mother of the bride had a tissue to share!). Alex, accompanied by her son, was an absolute vision with her eyes trained right on her room. It was a beautiful moment.
Were there any children involved in the ceremony or reception that were memorable?
Yes! The bride’s niece was the cutest flower girl I have ever seen. She took her sweet time coming down the aisle, making sure there was a rose petal on every square inch of long, outdoor pathway. The care and attention she took was so sweet, and she definitely left her mark on the wedding day! However, she was not the only child involved. Alex’s 10 year old son played a huge role in the day, the most important of which was escorting his mother down the aisle. It was emotional and lovely.
