What made the wedding venue special?
Mattie and Josh’s Sowell Farms wedding was the first opportunity I personally have had to photograph at the adorable Milton wedding venue! I always love when couples are able to keep all of their wedding events in one location because it eliminates so much stress on them to be able to show up and not worry about anything until the end of their night. Sowell Farms takes it a step further with separate spaces for both bridesmaids and groomsmen to get ready, multiple ceremony location options, and catering available on-site!! If you’re planning a Sowell Farm wedding, ask them about the late night nacho bar!!
Were there special details with symbolic importance?
The personal details are always my favorite and in our final meetings, I always make sure to ask if there are any that I might not notice or should know about. Mattie mentioned to me that her bouquet would include an heirloom handkerchief wrapped around the stems and family bible tucked into the blooms. After the ceremony, Mattie passed the family bible onto her soon-to-be sister in law! It was such a thoughtful detail and sweet moment – loved it!!
What was the couple’s session like?
The mid-summer storms kept us on our toes most of the day, but we ended up with the most gorgeous summer sunlight for Mattie and Josh’s portraits after the ceremony!! They were so sweet and willing to traipse all over the Sowell Farms property in spite of the heat with me to find just the right pockets of light for romantic portraits of just the two of them. The results couldn’t be prettier or more magical!!
