What emotions were apparent on the wedding day?
There was so much laughter! Ashley had a smile on her face all day long, and Luke has an incredible sense of humor and kept me laughing all day long.
What made the reception enjoyable?
I love the way this Watercolor wedding was planned! It was a wonderfully mild December day here on Florida’s Emerald Coast, and the doors between the LakeHouse and the pool deck were left wide open. Guests were able to enjoy two totally different experiences – inside, they could dance their hearts out to the great music by Ascension. When they got tired, they could stroll right out to the Pool Deck for a cocktail (and maybe a cigar) on the beautiful lounge furniture. There truly was something for everyone.
Were there any unique traditions that made the wedding memorable?
During his wedding toast, the father of the bride told the story of his family’s heritage, coming from Europe. He surprised Ashley and Luke by revealing some beautiful silver shot glasses featuring the crest of his mother’s home country, Lichtenstein. Part of the tradition is for the couple to toast with a shot of homemade moonshine (or “holy water” as it was called in Lichtenstein). I love seeing family traditions come into play at a wedding and it was a beautiful moment!
