What made the reception enjoyable?
Like many of our 2020 couples, Jennifer and Alan’s original plans were affected by COVID. Rather than postponing their wedding, they chose to move forward with their plans, on their original date, but to limit the size of their guest list to close family only. What resulted was an incredibly intimate and luxurious event. The WaterColor LakeHouse was absolutely stunning, with dramatic draped columns and lush floral chandeliers. The guests (all 17 of them!), were treated like royalty, and enjoyed an energetic live band, a wonderful meal, and a beautiful space. Everyone in attendance was very close to the couple and the family, and that created a day full of meaningful moments (that were a dream to photograph in such a beautiful location).
Was there an exceptional vendor?
The wedding planner, Arden Sanders, is always an absolute dream. She is organized and professional, but also incredibly kind and empathetic, and she makes sure the day is beautiful to see and to experience. At this intimate wedding, she made sure every single guest had exactly what they needed throughout the evening, and it created a day that was truly stress free for the couple and their family.
What was unique about the bride and groom’s attire?
Both Jennifer and Alan looked incredible – she wore a form-fitting crepe gown designed by Essense of Australia, and he wore military mess dress. As though that weren’t enough, about halfway through the reception, the groom conducted a surprise change into full Scottish regalia (kilt, sporran, the whole shebang!). Jennifer wrapped a tartan around her shoulders and they surprised their guests by performing a traditional Scottish dance. It was delightful and a wonderful way to celebrate their shared Scottish heritage!
