About a year-and-a-half ago, I posted an ad for an assistant (on Craig’s List, of all places).  The first response I got was from a girl named Becky, who walked into my studio for an interview armed with a huge smile (with red lipstick), a degree in Chemistry from Villanova, and a love for golden retrievers that matched my own.  Obviously, I hired her.  (I found out later that her sweet boyfriend, Matt, drove by our studio the day before to make sure that we were, in fact, a functioning business and not a sketchy front using Craig’s List for dastardly purposes . . . which we were not.) Well, since then, Becky has turned into an indispensable part of Aislinn Kate Photography – she is a rocking photographer (you’ve seen her photos in almost every blog post, without even knowing it), a studio manager who keeps us organized and on time, and most importantly, my friend.

We have loved watching Becky’s family grow with the addition of Penny, the cutest golden retriever ever (like, EVER), and were over the moon when Matt asked her to marry him.  It’s been a blast watching the wedding planning happen, and we can’t wait for April 9, when all of the AKP shooters are going to strap on our cameras and shoot the heck out of their wedding in downtown Pensacola.  For their engagement session, we split time between the studio (which I shot) and the beach (shot by Mallory).  And we’re kind of obsessed with the results.
