Emily told me that her wedding was going to be in her grandmother’s backyard in Milton, Florida (which is the elegant country sister to waterfront Pensacola). I imagined pretty trees, green grass, and maybe (if I was lucky) lots of sparkling market lights to twinkle in the background of the photos. Boy, did this couple (and their incredible team of wedding vendors) exceed my expectations! First of all, this “grandmother’s backyard” consisted of 125 acres of some of the most stunning live oaks I have ever seen (including an absolute showpiece specimen that shaded the party, strung with lights along the underside of the giant limbs – hung by the groom!). They gave us our very own side-by-side, which we used to explore the property . . . and you know what we found? A red barn. Like, an actual, storybook red barn, complete with a white picket fence and big barn doors adorned with cross beams, and flowers and grass and sunlight. It was a dream. And not only was this Milton wedding visually stunning, but the families and friends (all 350 of them) were hilarious and nice and there to have a great time – which they did, helped by the awesome performance of the Atlanta band, Big Night Dynamite. Paul with P.S. Weddings (one of our very favorite wedding coordinators) did an incredible job pulling together this gorgeous event, and I am so glad that we got to be a part of it.
