So if you know me at all, you know that brunch is pretty much my favorite event. I love the food (seriously, cheesy breakfast casserole is my jam); I love the drinks (mimosa, hold the orange juice, please); I love the clothes (a fancy dress of comfy sweats – either works for brunch!). But most of all, I love the easy and relaxed nature of brunch. It has a “come-as-you-are” vibe to it, no time limit, and the conversation comfortably meanders. In fact, if you wonder where you can find me most Sundays (recovering after a long and late wedding the evening before), I am almost always enjoying good pink champagne with even better friends. When I realized Alyssa and Brian were planning a brunch wedding, I knew it was the wedding for me. We started early and I loved photographing the bridal prep as the sun climbed (Alyssa’s completely unique rose-gold details were a delight). Mid-morning, we moved to Palafox House, where the most perfect spread had been prepared by Five Sisters Blues Café, and guests could dine on chicken and waffles, grits, eggs benedict, and more at tables laid with mismatched vintage china and dripping with florals. Dessert consisted of a variety of donuts (from a local bakery); the bacon glazed donuts were the first to disappear, for obvious reasons. As guests nibbled and sipped, Alyssa and Brian married in front of a circular arbor, bursting with flowers in pinks and ivories. I’m pretty sure there wasn’t a dry eye in the house (including the photographers) as they exchanged the sweetest vows.
THANK YOU, Alyssa and Brian, for including me in your day.
