I love weddings.
Can I just say that?
I love them because no wedding is the same. Every couple is unique, with different traditions, different personalities, and I think that is what makes them so extraordinary.
Jess and Nate’s wedding was pretty extraordinary.
They spent their wedding day at the historic Naval Air Station, “The Cradle of Naval Aviation”, in Pensacola Florida (a perfect place to marry a pilot) and let me just say the day was absolutely gorgeous!
Jess walked down the aisle and exchanged vows with Nate at the Naval Aviation Memorial Chapel, the same alter that Jess’ parents stood on years before. There were so many details and thoughts put into their special day. The custom made gown that made Jess look like a princess, Nate’s sharp white uniform accompanied with a sword engraved with their newly shared name to cut the cake, and a beautiful white carriage to take them off into the evening sunset; all different traditions, all unique.
Weddings in general are amazing because they bring everyone on both sides together to celebrate and show all their love to the bride and groom, one big party! Ultimately though, weddings are about the couple and their love for one another; to choose one person to spend the rest of their life with. So, for me, to be able to photograph the couple during the infamous golden hour and see them laugh and giggle with one another, was just the best way to end the day.
Jess and Nate, we had such a lovely time with you and your family, thank you again for having us!
Congratulations Mr. & Mrs. Shepherd… fly high!
Much love,
Rachel
