Did the weather cooperate on the wedding day?
“YES! I think it might have been the prettiest day of the year (seriously). It was 75 degrees, sunny, and just breezy enough to keep everyone comfortable and give the prettiest lift to Taylor’s dress and hair. As the sun set, the sky turned the loveliest pastel shades of pinks and blues – it looked like a watercolor painting!”
What was unique about the couple’s attire?
“Both Taylors incorporated COLOR (also, can we take a minute and address the adorable fact that they were both named Taylor!). Taylor’s wedding gown was the prettiest shade of blush, with layers of tulle making it feel absolutely dreamy. The other Taylor wore a beautiful gray suit with burgundy bowtie that perfectly matched the dahlias in the florals. I absolutely love weddings that bring in color in unexpected ways, and their color palette of burgundy and blush is one of my favorites.”
What was the couple’s session like?
“Perfect – both of them! Taylor and Taylor chose not to do a First Look, so we did all of the photos after the ceremony. The plan was to start with the extended family portraits, then bridal party, and finally end with creative portraits of the couple, as the sun set. However, right after the ceremony, there was a delicious pocket of sunlight streaming through the trees, so I snuck a mini-portrait session of the brides immediately after the ceremony. I’m so glad we did! Those photos are golden and sun-drenched, and the perfect complement for the pastel, soft photos we got 30 minutes later as the sun set.”
What was special about the first time the couple saw each other?
“Taylor and Taylor didn’t see each other until the ceremony began, so it was a traditional first look moment! They did, however, do a “first touch.” This is a super-fun option that allows the couple to touch and speak prior to the ceremony, but doesn’t reveal their transformation into their wedding finery until the traditional moment! We did Taylor and Taylor’s First Touch on the back porch of the clubhouse, and I loved hearing them relax while they spoke for a few minutes. The smiles on their faces were priceless.”
